The World Moves by Sea. So Should Your Cargo.

Nearly 90% of global trade travels by ocean — and for good reason. Sea freight delivers unmatched capacity at unbeatable cost. Vantage Move puts the world’s shipping lanes at your service, with reliable schedules, competitive rates, and a team that treats every container like a commitment.

Introduction

Ocean Freight, Without the Waves

Sea transportation is the backbone of international commerce — but it can also feel like the most opaque. Rate fluctuations, blank sailings, rollovers, port congestion, and paperwork can turn a simple container move into weeks of uncertainty.

Vantage Move brings order to the ocean. Through strong partnerships with leading carriers, priority space agreements, and decades of combined forwarding experience, we secure the capacity you need at rates you can plan around. From the moment your cargo is booked to the moment your container is delivered, you’ll have complete visibility, honest communication, and a dedicated team keeping your shipment on course.

Our Sea Freight Services

Solutions for Every Cargo, Every Volume, Every Route

Full Container Load (FCL) Your cargo, your container, your schedule. FCL gives you exclusive use of a 20ft, 40ft, or 40ft high-cube container — the most secure and cost-efficient option for larger shipments. Your goods are sealed at origin and opened only at destination, minimizing handling and risk.

Less than Container Load (LCL) Don’t have enough cargo to fill a container? Don’t pay for one. Our LCL consolidation service combines your shipment with others heading the same way, so you pay only for the space you use. With regular consolidation schedules on major routes, smaller shipments move with big-shipment reliability.

Refrigerated Containers (Reefer) Perishables, pharmaceuticals, and temperature-sensitive goods travel safely in our reefer containers, with precise temperature control from -30°C to +30°C, continuous monitoring, and cold chain integrity from loading dock to delivery.

Breakbulk & Project Cargo Some cargo doesn’t fit in a box. Machinery, construction equipment, oversized components, and heavy-lift pieces require specialized planning — and that’s where our project logistics team excels. We handle route surveys, lifting plans, special equipment (flat racks, open tops, platforms), and port coordination for cargo of any size and complexity.

Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) Vehicles, trailers, and wheeled machinery drive on at origin and drive off at destination. RoRo offers a simple, cost-effective solution for cars, trucks, buses, and rolling equipment, with regular sailings on major vehicle trade routes.

Dangerous Goods (DG) Shipping Certified expertise for hazardous cargo. Our trained specialists manage classification, documentation, packaging requirements, and carrier approvals in full compliance with the IMDG Code — keeping your regulated cargo moving safely and legally.

Port-to-Port or Door-to-Door

You Choose How Far We Take It

Port-to-Port — We manage the ocean leg; you handle the rest. Ideal for businesses with their own origin and destination logistics.

Door-to-Port / Port-to-Door — We collect from your supplier or deliver to your final destination, combining ocean freight with our road network on one end.

Door-to-Door — The complete package: pickup, export clearance, ocean transport, import clearance, and final delivery — all managed by one team, tracked on one platform, covered by one point of accountability.

How It Works

From Booking to Delivery in Six Steps

1. Quote & Book — Share your cargo details and route. We’ll recommend the best service, sailing, and rate — and secure your space.

2. Cargo Collection — We pick up from your premises or supplier, or receive your delivery at our consolidation warehouse.

3. Export Formalities — Our customs team prepares documentation and clears your cargo for departure.

4. Ocean Transit — Your cargo sails with a trusted carrier while you track its progress in real time — vessel position, milestones, and updated ETAs.

5. Import Clearance — Before arrival, our destination team files documentation so clearance starts immediately when the vessel docks.

6. Final Delivery — Your container or cargo is delivered to your door, warehouse, or onward carrier — right on schedule.

Visibility Across the Ocean

Your Cargo, Always in Sight

The days of “it’s somewhere on the water” are over. Our tracking platform gives you:

  • Live vessel tracking — see your cargo’s position throughout its ocean journey
  • Milestone updates — gate-in, loading, departure, transshipment, arrival, and release notifications in real time
  • Dynamic ETAs — arrival estimates that update with actual vessel progress, not just published schedules
  • Document center — bills of lading, packing lists, and customs documents in one secure place
  • Exception alerts — immediate notification of delays, rollovers, or schedule changes, with our proposed solutions attached

Equipment Guide

The Right Container for the Job

  • 20ft Standard — Ideal for heavy, dense cargo up to ~28 tonnes; roughly 33 cubic meters of space
  • 40ft Standard — The workhorse for high-volume goods; roughly 67 cubic meters
  • 40ft High-Cube — Extra height for voluminous, lighter cargo; roughly 76 cubic meters
  • Reefer Containers — Temperature-controlled in 20ft and 40ft sizes
  • Open Top — For cargo loaded by crane or exceeding standard height
  • Flat Rack — For oversized, heavy, or irregularly shaped cargo
  • Tank Containers — For liquids and certain bulk chemicals

Not sure what you need? Send us your cargo dimensions and our team will recommend the optimal equipment and loading plan.

Why Ship by Sea

When Ocean Freight Is the Smart Choice

  • Cost efficiency — By far the lowest cost per kilogram for large or heavy shipments
  • Capacity without limits — From one pallet to hundreds of containers, the ocean scales with you
  • Lower carbon footprint — Sea freight produces significantly less CO2 per tonne-kilometer than air transport
  • Versatility — Virtually any cargo type — dry, refrigerated, liquid, oversized, or hazardous — has an ocean solution
  • Predictability — With proper planning and a proactive forwarder, scheduled sailings deliver dependable supply chain rhythm

When to consider air instead: If your shipment is urgent, high-value relative to its weight, or perishable with a short shelf life, our air freight team can help. Many customers combine both — ocean for base stock, air for urgent replenishment. We’ll help you find the right mix.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does sea freight take? Transit times vary by route — typically anywhere from under a week for short regional lanes to 30–45 days for long intercontinental routes, plus time for clearance and inland delivery. We’ll give you realistic door-to-door estimates for your specific lane.

FCL or LCL — which should I choose? As a rule of thumb, shipments above roughly 13–15 cubic meters often become more economical as FCL. But security, speed, and handling considerations matter too — we’ll run the comparison for you.

Can I track my container? Yes — live vessel position, milestone updates, and dynamic ETAs are standard on every shipment, visible on our platform anytime.

Is my cargo insured? Carrier liability is limited by international conventions, which is why we strongly recommend cargo insurance. We offer comprehensive coverage options for every shipment — ask for a quote when you book.
